Taking A Look At Lil Yatchy's Female Features

Lil Boat released his debut album not too long ago, and the female rendition is immense. Lil Yatchy only has eight features on his 21-song album, and of the eight features, half of them are women.

Kamaiyah Jamesha Johnson

In his song ‘All Around Me’, Lil Boat features YG and Kamaiyah. Kamaiyah is a rapper and singer from Oakland, California. YG and Kamaiyah have previously worked together on the hit song ‘Why You Always Hatin’?’ and on her debut mixtape ‘A Good Night In The Ghetto’, so it’s great to see them working together once again. While Lil Yatchy sings, Kamaiyah comes in with her own verse. Giving off major bad bitch vibes, rapping about flipping her own money on her own tours and swerving on the lames. It’s really a breath of fresh air when a man sings a chorus while a female raps.

Stefflon Don

In his song ‘Better’, Lil Boat features none other than Stefflon Don. I’ve just gotten seriously hooked on UK female grime, so as soon as I saw her feature, I basically listened to it first and instantly fell in love. Stefflon Don started off her career remixing a bunch of grime songs and putting on her own twist to them, that caught the eyes of major magazines and so on. She has worked with the likes of Jeremih on their song ‘London’ and has also admitted to working with Drake. Her career is really firing off. When I listen to ‘Better’, I imagine myself on the beach drinking a corona vibing out. It’s the perfect summer song. And, I think it might just be my favourite song on the album.

Grace Sewell

In his song ‘Running With A Ghost’, Lil Yatchy features Grace. Grace isn’t a rapper of any kind but she is an Australian singer best known for her remake of the song ‘You Don’t Own Me’ which features G-eazy. Nonetheless, Grace sings powerfully and soulfully in her feature with Lil Yatchy that really stands out.

Sonaye Elise

In his song ‘Momma’ (this song makes my fucking heart swell), Lil Boat features Sonyae Elise. Sonyae is an R&B singer and has been featured in Mel Carter’s ‘Black Rose’ and Anderson Paak’s song ‘Room in Here’ along with The Game. Lil Boat and Sonyae harmonize beautifully together, a wonderful end to a great album.
